Inmate Chancellor Lee Harris Found Dead in Idaho State Correctional Institution
Harris Was Serving Time for Possession of Controlled Substances
Inmate Chancellor Lee Harris, who was serving time for possession of controlled substances, was found dead in his cell at the Idaho State Correctional Institution (ISCI) on September 16, 2023.
According to a statement from the Idaho Department of Corrections, Harris was found unresponsive in his cell during a routine check. He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. The cause of death is currently under investigation.
Harris had been incarcerated at ISCI since 2021. He was serving a 10-year sentence for three counts of possession of controlled substances and one count of possession of paraphernalia.
ISCI is a medium-security prison for men in unincorporated Ada County. It is one of six state prisons operated by the Idaho Department of Corrections.
