The fifth-seeded Dallas Mavericks are just one win away from the NBA Finals and will host the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday night.
The Mavericks took a 3-2 lead in the series with a 108-105 victory in Game 5 on Wednesday night. Luka Doncic led the way for Dallas with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists.
The Timberwolves were led by Anthony Edwards, who had 27 points. Karl-Anthony Towns added 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than 10 points. The Mavericks took control in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Timberwolves 32-25.
Doncic hit a jumper with 1:09 remaining to give the Mavericks a 108-105 lead. The Timberwolves had a chance to tie the game, but Edwards missed a three-pointer with 12 seconds left.
The Mavericks will now have a chance to close out the series in Game 6 on Friday night. The game will be played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
