Atletico Madrid win 2-1 away at Getafe in La Liga
Luis Suarez scored two late goals as La Liga champions Atletico Madrid came from behind to beat neighbours Getafe Getafes first goal against Atleti since January 2018.
Enes Ünal had given Getafe a shock lead from the penalty spot in the first half, but Morata equalised just before the hour mark and Suarez struck twice in the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
The result leaves Atletico Madrid third in the table, two points behind second-placed Real Madrid and 12 points behind leaders Barcelona.
Getafe remain 15th, three points above the relegation zone.
The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez stadium in Getafe.
Getafe started the match brightly and took the lead in the 22nd minute when Ünal converted a penalty after Reinildo Mandava had been adjudged to have fouled Borja Mayoral.
Atletico Madrid struggled to create chances in the first half, but they equalised in the 59th minute when Morata fired home from close range after good work from Thomas Lemar.
Suarez then struck twice in the final 10 minutes to seal the win for Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan forward scored his first goal in the 83rd minute when he headed home a cross from Renan Lodi.
He then added a second in the 88th minute when he tapped home from close range after good work from Joao Felix.
The win was Atletico Madrid's first away from home in La Liga since January and will give them a much-needed boost ahead of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester City next week.
Getafe, meanwhile, will be disappointed to have lost after taking the lead, but they will take heart from their performance and will be confident of staying up in La Liga.
